In the early Seventies, a rock band called Stonefront was formed and came together in the magnificent setting of GarWood Mansion on the banks of Lake St Claire, Detroit. I am currently editing a feature length documentary of the extraordinary story of the band and community that developed at GarWood. It is a fascinating story of idealism, protest, rock celebrities and drug busts, a film that has a contemporary resonance.
Robin Welch, the producer/director of the project has recovered recordings from Blue Rock Studio sessions and together with the remarkable images from award winning photo-journalist, John Collier, will be released as a theatre, DVD, Vinyl LP, CD and book package. More information here
Current development of the website project about the artist Clifford Mclucas is nearing completion. http://www.cliffordmclucas.info
This is an initial stage to create a web presence and introductory portfolio of Cliff’s work for those who are interested and want to discover more about his extensive range of skills and ideas. I worked with Cliff back in the mid 80’s as part of the Aberystwyth Media Group and followed his influential career until his untimely death in 2002. An archive of his work is held at the National Library of Wales and together with Gudrun Jones, we are creating an online presence that will inform others of this remarkable body of work. It is wonderful to to reconnect with cliff again through his work and hope that this presentation will showcase the depth and quality of his talent.
Tune for the Blood is a feature film documentary was premiered on 26th Feb 2012 at the Borderlines film Festival, The Courtyard, Hereford. I spent a year editing the film with Director Anne Cottringer and recently completed the sound edit. The film gives an insight into the lives of eight young farmers over a year, describing events and rich landscapes that shape the backdrop of these traditional Herefordshire family farms.
